You Must Have Known Woli Arole, And Now There Is Wezzyc88: This New Comedy Sensation Sets Instagram On Fire!

By Femi Akinpelu Joseph

Laughter, they say, brings healing to the spirit and youthfulness to the soul. It is, therefore, not surprising that comedy business has boomed so greatly, and has become a main-stay in the entertainment industry.

The new social media comedy trend (the recording, posting and sharing of comedy video skits online) has, over a period of years back now, become so popular and very lucrative in Nigeria. And, this has in turn, generated a huge fan base among pleasure-seekers, especially the social media lovers.

One of the first ground-breakers with this comedy trend was Mark Angel and Co. with the very young and talented Emmanuella, who plays the major and the funniest roles in their skits. There has also been the likes of "Craze Clown" with Ade, "Still Ringing", "Wowo Boyz" and the rest.

But recently, the Nigerian comedy followers have seen a different twist to this trend by comedian Bayegun Oluwatoyin, popularly known as "Woli Arole". He came into limelight by doing a (selfie) self-recording of all his comedy videos, while he claims to prophesy things that would happen, and also tries to interpret the the implication of events happening around, mimicking prophets of "white garment" churches', in very funny ways.

And about two years when Woli Arole has carved a niche for himself in the industry, the social media comedy audience has suddenly woken up to a brand new kid on the block, by the name Uche Mbah. Mbah who posts his clips and captions them with the handle @wezzyc88 is another very talented, creative, and crazy comedian. Wezzyc88, though, apparently looks well-traveled, very exposed and privileged, decides to always speak in a typically strong Igbo accent. Watch out for his trademark statement "I don't like what I hate".

Wezzyc88 updates his instagram account with very hilarious comedy video clips. His concepts and acting skills is top-notch and out of this world. Looking forward to seeing many more talents come on stage in a few years from now.

Talents indeed abound in Nigeria. Who says Nigeria is not the best country in the world?

God bless Nigeria.

The Beef Now Gets Even Hotter: Aftermath The Osagie Shades, Vector Throws A Challenge At M.I

Following the heated interview involving Pulse TV's Osagie Alonge with popular rapper, M.I. Abaga, where the former challenged the rapper M.I of having produced a "wack" Chairman album some years back, the Nigerian hip-hop audience has been thrown into some controversy of sort.

And just today, after it seemed that the argument generated from that interview has died down a little, another rapper, Vector tha Viper opened up a whole new chapter of the beef.

Vector posted on his Instgram page, a cut out video clip of the Osagie interview with M.I, the part where the interviewer threw another shade at M.I, saying Vector did a Freestyle session at Unilag sometimes back, in which he (M.I) was absent.

Osagie, just like many other rap fans, wondered why M.I has not featured Vector or collaborated with him at any time before, giving room to the suspicion that he (M.I) is avoiding  going head-to-head with Vector in a rap freestyle, or a contest. However, Vector has this more to say below.

He posted this on his IG page today, he said, "@mi_abaga you na bad guy sha...lol.
Firstly, you mailed me a beat sometime ago on some "let's make this dope record happen" but yeah that was all it was."

"You were also supposed to be on the #Kingkongremix but yeah we all must have gotten very busy... hehe. So let me make this clear... 16 bars is nothing, i'm not the type to involve in fake talks so... yeah... you said and i quote "i am the guy who wants to rap with everybody" ok then, LET'S RAP".

Hope M.I is not being tempted to go back to the studio, and wax a new track called, "Beef Part 2".

How far will this beef last?
Only time will tell!
